Today's bit of trivia: The blue-bill lake duck has the largest penis relative to it's body size of all vertebrates. Reaching a length of 42.5 cm or something over 16 inches. Half it's body length. Additionally the Blue-bill's prodigious appendage is cork-screw shaped with small wart-like protrusions along it's massive length, much like those on the infamous French Tickler. Leading ornithologist have determined that the odd shape and protrusions serve a two fold purpose. First they stimulate the female and second they help to remove any deposits left by an earlier visit on withdrawal. It seems that the female Blue-bill, unlike most of her cousins in the bird family who mate for life, is very loose with her affections, one might even say, promiscuous and the astute male wants to be sure any ducklings resulting from the union are his.
